STudent Ministry
Wednesdays | 6:30pm | The Blue Building
Reverberate | rəˈvərbəˌrāt | v. be repeated several times as an echo; have continuing and serious effects.
Our student ministry name comes from the idea conveyed in Acts 1:8—“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Jesus’ disciples were to take the Gospel from their hometown of Jerusalem and let it reverberate to the rest of the world. As a student ministry, our goal is that teens will take what they learn and experience at church to the rest of the their world. The Gospel is not just for Sundays and Wednesdays. It affects every aspect of our lives.

What teenager doesn’t experience tough times? Whether it’s the relatively run-of-the-mill relational issues that plague high schoolers or bigger issues such as parental divorce or the death of a loved one, teenagers have their share of struggles. Knowing where to turn in troubled times can be a challenge. How refreshing, then, to know that Jesus spoke extensively on the challenges we face, and how we can bring our cares to God in trying times.
Jesus and Tough Times will teach students that when they experience tough times, they should express their emotions to God in real, honest ways; that faith in Jesus and His ability to lead them through trials is what will get them through the tough times; that Jesus stands ready to offer comfort to them in the midst of their tough times; and that when Jesus ultimately delivers them from tough times, their response should be thankfulness and praise.

The Apostle John gave us the reason why he wrote his Gospel in John 20:30-31: “Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name” (ESV).
We are currently taking a journey through the Gospel of John. Each Wednesday night, we will take on a small passage from the Gospel and study it. The goal is that our students would either deepen their faith as they learn more about what Jesus while on earth or for the first time believe on Him for salvation.
Join us Wednesday nights at 6:30pm in The Blue Building for our Reverb Worship Service!
